The contract will see MARSS take delivery of Sentinel diver detection and NOAS obstacle avoidance sonars during 2015 and 2016 as part of a wider integrated package of security and surveillance equipment for several private yachts currently under construction.
The systems will be fully integrated with MARSS NiDAR command and control software enabling complete above and below water domain awareness for the security and safety of the assets. The sonar systems are combined with camera and radar technologies to enable automatic threat detection, classification and response.
Rob Balloch, Senior Vice President at MARSS said, “This latest contract recognizes the strength of the partnership between MARSS and Sonardyne and the demand from the market for a fully integrated capability that minimizes the workload on the yards and the owners/operators of such vessels. With the experiences we have built up together over several years of working together we can offer clients a fully co-ordinated and efficient solution that reduces the overall risk to the program”
