MARSS Group announce the completion and launch of M/Y MARSS, a pioneering luxury motor yacht developed to provide complete 360-degree security to a client mother vessel and guests onboard.
Designed by Sam Sorgiovanni and originally commissioned as a luxury dive support vessel for one of Germany’s largest motor yachts, under new ownership M/Y MARSS has undergone a comprehensive systems, mechanical and cosmetic overhaul. This includes the equipment of a long range air, surface and underwater surveillance and security system, a full cosmetical refit, updated entertainment systems, new generator, refurbished engines and water jet propulsion.
Offering clients and their guests state of the art air, surface and underwater safety and security both onboard and ashore, MARSS has installed a full complement of advanced perimeter security systems based around their leading NiDAR software platform. Integrating seamlessly with specialist radars, long range optical and infra-red cameras, drone detection and tracking equipment, NiDAR also offers a real time AI based solution which automatically monitors, detects and tracks potential threats in the vicinity, delivering immediate status alerts and crucial information to security operatives. Importantly, M/Y MARSS offers this situational awareness capability for vessels in its vicinity with remote operation of the system by security operators on another vessel or even onshore requiring neither installation nor operation from the mother vessel.
Perfect for additional use as well as a luxury tender or chase boat, M/Y MARSS offers a double cabin forward and a further double guest cabin port side for a security detail or day excursions. The yacht features a large full-width saloon incorporating comfortable seating, a sit up bar and 55-inch pop up TV, whilst the galley area offers a large fridge, coffee machine, dishwasher and microwave.
Externally, M/Y MARSS has been redesigned to create a large and flexible multi-use aft area. Removable furniture modules allow the deck to easily convert into a spacious work and toy carrying area or beach club, whilst converting into an enclosed cockpit with sunbathing, seating and a large dining-table seating up to 10 guests.
Equipped with water jet propulsion and twin MTU engines, M/Y MARSS is capable of top speeds in excess of 30 knots for fast interception capability and benefits from an operational range of over 300 nautical miles. A relatively shallow draft and generous width allows access to areas that a deeper draft vessel would be unable to reach, making her an obvious choice for clients looking for complete security and flexibility.
